Initial Thoughts

Before arriving in Florence, I assumed that Europe was very open and aware when it came to climate change, its effects, and he literacy surrounding it. I expected to see clean streets, proper waste management, and renewable energy infrastructure. I knew about the ban on plastics, so I am super interested to see what they have replaced it with!  In terms of sustainability, I expected the basics as it is s historic city with lots of tourists. This week I hope to learn how the city of  Florence has kept the historic beauty around and within itself and how it handles climate change resilience and irresponsible tourism.
